Americans purchase about 50 billion plastic water bottles per year.
Only a fraction of those plastics are recycled. As a result, each person dumps an average of 100 plastic bottles in nature every year. When you take the current population of the USA it equates to around thirty-three billion plastic bottles that are dumped!
In America alone more than 143 million plastic water bottles are thrown away every day!
This mass accumulation of plastic waste is not only having a detrimental effect on our environment and nature, but on our bodies as well. It is estimated that we eat a credit card’s worth of plastic each week!
It’s time to break with our plastic addiction in whatever ways we can, starting with swapping plastic water bottles for sustainable eco-friendly ones.
