Cleaning & Care
Please take the time to read and follow these simple maintenance steps. By doing so, you can increase the longevity of your bottleworx and ensure that every sip you take is just as clean and pure as the first.
Prior to initial use:
Hand wash your bottle and cap with hot, soapy water. Thoroughly rinse off them both off and your bottleworx is ready to go!
What not to do:
Put your bottleworx into the dishwasher: This can compromise the vacuum insulation, as well as possibly damage the powder coating.
Put your bottleworx into the freezer: Because bottleworx is so well insulated, the freezer won’t change the temperature of the liquid inside. If you’re looking for a freezing cold drink, simply load up your bottleworx with ice and let the insulation do the work for you.
Put your bottleworx on the stove or over a fire: Similar to putting your bottle into the freezer, a heat source won’t break through that insulation barrier either. Putting bottleworx products over a fire or on the stove will only end up damaging your bottle.
What you can do:
Clean your bottleworx with a bottle brush: We recommend doing this as frequently as possible, even if you only use your bottle for water.
Use white distilled vinegar for cleaning: Any household white distilled vinegar will help remove stains or discolouration. Use a half cup of vinegar and swirl it around any affected areas. Rinse thoroughly with hot water and repeat the process if required.
Use baking soda for cleaning: We aren’t perfect and sometimes it is easy to forget about a drink inside of your bottle for a few days. For those times where your bottle is harder to clean than usual, mix a few tablespoons of baking soda into warm water, and then scrub away affected areas with a bottle brush. Rinse thoroughly with hot water and repeat the process if required.
Wash your caps in the dishwasher: All bottleworx accessories are top-rack dishwasher safe. The cap will likely last longer if it is hand-washed, but if it needs a really deep cleaning, the dishwasher is a good choice.
